The RF IC took the initiative to introduce criminal liability for legal entities in Russia. TASS writes about this with reference to a statement by the deputy head of the department, Alexander Fedorov.

According to Fedorov, the institution of such responsibility is currently relevant. Abroad, in addition to prison, many penalties apply to legal entities, he noted.

In 2015, a draft law on criminal liability of legal entities was submitted to the State Duma, but the document was rejected, including due to criticism from lawyers and companies. It was proposed to introduce sanctions for legal entities under more than 40 articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
