Rosa Khutor is one of the largest and most prestigious complexes in Sochi. The construction of the ski town was timed to coincide with the 2014 Olympics, with the main emphasis being placed on the professional slopes. Resting in a ski resort is not a cheap pleasure. Renting equipment and hiring an instructor for a couple of hours will cost about 10 thousand rubles, after such a break you will not be surprised at the prices on the local market. This cost is due to the high quality of service, on a vast territory (more than 100 km) it is clean and well maintained. Some tourists say that “Rosa Khutor” is not inferior in quality to Swiss resorts.
Here, in the square of the craftsmen, there are several dozen wooden houses that form the “Bazar”. This place can be considered more of a souvenir shop than a market for locals. On the territory of the square, in addition to trading houses, there are several statues of grass animals and a children’s playground. The prices here are comparable to those of the souvenir shops in the local museum, but among the trading houses you can find very interesting products.
In the market you can buy: wooden utensils, handwritten paintings, children’s toys, bags, jewelry, oriental sweets, unusual cheeses and sausages. In a local grocery store you have the opportunity to buy a kilogram of donkey cheese for fifteen hundred rubles, a kilogram of sheep cheese will cost six thousand, and the most sophisticated gourmets can buy Dorblu donkey cheese for a symbolic price of 17 1,500 rubles.
And if you want to try unusual meat sausages, try venison sausages (1 thousand per 200 g) or horse meat (1.5 thousand per 200 g). Here you can also buy a kilo of dried fruit for two thousand rubles or a half-liter jar of honey for a thousand. If you want to have a snack, there is a pancake shop on the square with a large assortment and the average price for a pancake (230g) is 250 rubles.
In general, local prices are even very sharp. But if you want to visit Rosa Khutor, don’t despair. A couple of kilometers from the square there is a “perekrestok” store with a cafeteria and very democratic prices.
