The move follows a series of incidents that Google said had undermined its confidence in Entrust’s “competence and trustworthiness” as a certificate authority. Mozilla has also previously highlighted issues with Entrust certificates.
To avoid potential security warnings, Chrome users are advised to switch to alternative certificate authorities before the certificate expires.
After making changes, organizations will have the ability to manually trust Entrust certificates on their internal networks.
