Serpukhov is a city in the south of the Moscow region, on the border with the Tula region. I love this city and every time I watch with sadness how its historical heritage disappears. How new shopping malls are being built on the site of old buildings. The city was founded in 1339. Many interesting old buildings have been preserved on its streets, which, unfortunately, are getting smaller every year.

The magnificent building of the Church of the Trinity, built in 1670. The church is closed, there are no parishioners. But the building is well preserved. Against the backdrop of a beautiful sky, it looks majestic.

Even the rickety pillars do not spoil the impression of the beauty of the old building. And the dome cupolas look up.

Beautiful churches can be seen from almost every street. From the patio of each house. This area of the city is beautiful due to its age and certain neglect.

Near the Cathedral Hill, probably the most touristic place in Serpukhov, a real group of old buildings, buildings and churches. One of my favorite places in the city is the Plaza de la Catedral. Perfect in any weather, even rainy.

And when the weather is good, the best place for a photo. The Serpukhov Kremlin was located here, but only a few masonry remains remain.

Serpukhov is beautiful and old streets. Nicholas Bely Cathedral. 1833 built. The buildings are clearly after reconstruction, but they look pompous and beautiful.

Many other buildings destroyed or in the process of being destroyed. It is nice to walk through the streets of the city and look at old houses. Moscow First Street, Moscow Second Street and Kaluga Street are a perfect example of pre-revolutionary buildings.

There are also such courtyards, almost St. Petersburg. Serpukhov is a hodgepodge of old and new malls. But today I’m not going to photograph malls.

There are also such details.

There is no Lenin street in Serpukhov, but there are enough other communist streets – Volodarsky, Lunacharsky and, for example, Proletarskaya. But there is Lenin Square, naturally with a monument to Lenin.

The area has been recently renovated, carrying out a series of interesting details. For example, the old masonry of the building, with lighting. This square has become a fashionable place, with cafes and other elements of attraction for young people.

Benches and trees. It is a pity that the trees are very weak, small.

Although with the signs of course too much. It is not clear why such a duplication of signs.

And yes, there are also many ads.

Probably my favorite building in the city is the clock house. The building has hardly changed over the years.

This building is amazing in its majesty. Built in the early years of Soviet power, it survived both the USSR and perestroika and the new era. It’s worth it and it works. Its facade is not repainted and children run around its floors. Yes, this is a residential building. Too bad the clock is no longer ticking.

Old Druzhba cinema. Movies are not shown there, now there are some children’s circles.

Vysotsky monastery. A very famous place. I personally know pilgrims who came to Serpukhov from abroad to visit it.

The monastery is primarily known for the “Inexhaustible Chalice” icon, which cures alcoholism and drug addiction. Yes, it is good that they believe in miracles. It would be difficult to live without a miracle in this life. Especially if there is a lot of blackness and sinfulness behind your soul.

Well, great views of the vastness of the city and the Nara River, which flows nearby.

You can see the Cathedral of San Nicolás Bely. And factory chimneys that no longer emit smoke.

The territory is beautiful. Well arranged and very attractive photo. Landscaping is a hit here. It used to be just a field, but now it’s a beautiful playground.

During the blooming of wild flowers, it looks very beautiful.

Monastery architecture. The monastery is beautiful.

Let’s go further. Beautiful graffiti on one of the facades. In general, Serpukhov and its most interesting places can be overlooked (or bypassed) in one day.

Station Square. The Moscow train arrives here from the Kursk railway station. Travel time is about two hours. By car, the Simferopol highway can be reached in an hour. No traffic jams of course.

The area has recently been changed and renovated several times.

Before the area was different. There was a continual buildup of buses and parking lots.

Now there is a monument to princes Dmitry Donskoy and Vladimir the Brave. This monument seems awkward and too big. It looks absolutely ridiculous in this place. Between malls, like an eyesore. Although I’m sure a lot of people like it.

And there are even trendy benches with USB charging. Come to Serpukhov!
