According to TrendForce analysts, memory prices will continue to rise in the third quarter of 2024 due to increasing demand for servers.

The average selling price of DRAM could increase by 8-13%, especially for server DDR5 and DDR4, while the price of consumer modules will increase by 3-8%. The industry-wide increase in DRAM prices could impact the cost of new graphics cards such as the NVIDIA RTX 50XX and the next-generation AMD Radeon RX.

At the same time, video card manufacturers are starting active production of GDDR7, which is already 20-30% more expensive compared to GDDR6.

The price hike could lead to higher costs for graphics cards and lower video memory in new models. NVIDIA has been criticized in the past for its lack of video memory, which has given AMD an advantage.
