Previously, the leaders in smartphone sales were federal networks such as M.Video-Eldorado, DNS and others. According to the publication’s interlocutor, in the first half of the year their share fell from 40% to 34%.

About one-fifth of smartphone sales (22%) come from mobile operators’ retail networks, with the remaining 8% coming from other channels.

In monetary terms, the first place was also occupied by markets with a share of almost 38%, compared to 24% at the end of 2023. The share of federal networks decreased from 45 to 36%, that of operators – from 19 to 17%.

The fact of the change of the leader in sales channels was confirmed to the publication by representatives of Marvel Distribution and Ozon. In total, in the first six months of 2024, Russians purchased 14.2 million smartphones worth 344 billion rubles, according to data from M.Video-Eldorado. This is 24% more than a year earlier in monetary terms and 8% in quantitative terms. Similar figures were provided by Marvel Distribution and a source in the online trading market.

M.Video-Eldorado noted that most of the major offline players are also represented on the marketplaces, and the latter include part of the group’s sales statistics.
