Roskomnadzor reported that since the beginning of 2024, the Anti-Fraud system has prevented 291 million fraudulent calls from fake numbers. Almost all Russian telecom operators (1099 out of 1166) have already been connected to this system, which accounts for more than 95% of the total.
The agency also suggested automatically blocking calls from foreign numbers due to the rise in foreign scams. Subscribers will be able to choose whether to accept or block calls from abroad, which will protect them from potential scammers.
Antifraud was created by Roskomnadzor in 2022 to combat fraud through spam calls and spoofing. Last year, the system helped block more than 750 million such calls.
