The public-private partnership and the form of development of small and medium-sized businesses is a form that is actively developing in the existing economic model, said Natalia Poluyanova, a member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-sized Businesses.

According to her, SMEs are not as involved in this process now, but they are the basis of the economy. She also pointed out that the tourism sector is another growth area that is worth developing. At the same time, the number of projects is growing every year, Polujanova stressed.

In 2023, corresponding contracts worth more than 1 trillion rubles were concluded, while the volume of completed major deals exceeded 300 trillion rubles, the deputy said. More than 60% of domestic private partnerships are private investments, Poluyanova added.

In the spring, the Ministry of Economic Development announced that the number of registered small and medium-sized businesses in Russia had exceeded 6.56 million, a record number since registration.
