To pay off their debts, some Russians have gone through out-of-court bankruptcy proceedings. This, of course, put an end to the credit rating, but allowed not to pay debts. And if earlier there were much more rejections under this procedure than approvals (the latter only 9.6 thousand out of almost 20 thousand applications), now, as First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ilya Torosov tells Izvestia, the number of approvals should increase significantly.
Of course, the number of applicants should also increase. The economic situation speaks in favor of this, and the fact that more and more people are learning about a previously little-known, but still legal, way of paying off debt. And the graph below clearly shows that the number of these approvals is growing.
As a result, the total amount of Russians’ debts, which will be disposed of out of court, will reach 3 billion rubles from the launch of the program for the default mechanism of individuals.
Who can cancel debts?
The personal contest procedure for citizens has been operational since September 2020. It takes about six months and is free. The main thing is that the debt must be within 50-500 thousand rubles, and the borrower could submit a full enforcement procedure, according to which it is established that he cannot pay the debt. He can use the bankruptcy procedure for natural persons only once every 10 years.
