Minister of Innovation, Technology and Industry Sung Dong said on a radio show that his office is testing an artificial intelligence (AI) program called “Document Editing Collaboration App for Public Officials.” He plans to roll it out to the entire government this year.

The program was developed by the Generative Artificial Intelligence Research Centre led by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in collaboration with several other universities.

According to the Office of the Chief Government Information Officer, the program’s writing assistance features can help prepare, translate and summarize documents to improve government employee performance. The program’s database and extensive language model were developed independently by the center.

Song said the model will offer features such as graphics and video design in the future.
