The new device will be unveiled on July 19 during company founder Lei Jun’s fifth annual speech.
Officials said that the Mi Band 9 will not only have a metal body but will also feature updated smart functionality, thus improving the user experience.
Promotional images suggest that the new band will retain a similar design to the Mi Band 8 and will be available in a variety of colors with various strap options.
In comparison, the Mi Band 8 has a 1.62-inch display with 326PPI resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits brightness.
The bracelet has a rectangular design and supports automatic brightness adjustment. The device is also equipped with a quick strap change system and supports wearing as a necklace.
