Mozilla has added Interoperable Private Attribution (IPA) technology to its browser for advertisers, allowing organizations to track the effectiveness of their ad campaigns based on user activity.

Firefox’s developers say it uses cryptographic techniques to protect personal data, but that doesn’t reassure users accustomed to the browser’s high privacy standards.

The option can be disabled. To do this, go to “Settings”, then “Privacy & Security”, find “Allow websites to measure ads while preserving privacy” and uncheck this item.

Firefox 128 now evokes mixed feelings: On the one hand, it is still a powerful and functional browser, on the other hand, its new method of data collection raises concerns.
