Scientists have found that curcumin, which gives the root its distinctive orange color, is effective in reducing triglycerides and low- and very-low-density lipoproteins, or “bad” cholesterol, by 30%. These compounds form life-threatening cholesterol plaques in the human vascular system.

Regular consumption of meals with the addition of turmeric helps reduce cholesterol levels and prevent other diseases, especially liver and heart diseases.
