Owners of Russian Telegram channels write that they now have a monetization section.

The company has not officially announced this. This section is not yet shown on all channels.

You can check its availability by opening Settings → Channel statistics.

But even with the presence of a regular section, monetization in Russia cannot be included.

Judging by the screenshots, in Russia the money will be converted into video of the internal currency Telegram Stars, while in other countries the cryptocurrency TON is used for this. But Telegram Stars can be converted into TON and withdrawn to your wallet.

Presumably, payments will only be available if the advertiser pays for the ad, including through Telegram Stars. Advertising for TON cannot be targeted to the Russian audience.

Telegram launched monetization in March this year, but not in Russia. The messenger detects 50% of the advertising that is placed on channels through the Telegram Ads platform. Channels with more than 1,000 subscribers can connect monetization.

At the moment, advertising can be in a video post via a link. It is shown instead of the last message when the user finishes reading all new posts on the channel. [DNative]
