He noted that he has already sent a proposal to the Ministry of Digital Development on the need to discuss this idea with the gaming industry. It is also stated that this idea should be implemented as soon as possible.

According to the deputy, there are no competitive analogues of Western engines in Russia. Also the Russian engine should be an open source solution that “Russian game developers can use for their projects for free”.

According to the politician, until Russia has a full-fledged competitor to Western game engines, there is a high risk of hindering the survival of Russian game developers and domestic companies.

“Access to the engine is still preserved for Russian developers, but it can be terminated at any time,” said Anton Gorelkin.
