This is the most specific date that is mentioned CEO of the company since its initial launch.
Tesla’s goal was to put the Cybertruck up for sale. at the end of 2021but in August of that year, the company announced a delay until 2022. Then at the 2021 Q4 Investor Conference in January 2022, Musk said there would be another delay, until 2023. The reason is that the only way to continue producing so many Model 3s and Model Ys to try and meet demand is to avoid any complications on the production lines.
“If we introduce new cars, the total number of cars produced annually will decrease, so we will not start production of new car models this year,” the Tesla CEO explained. He also explained that another issue is that maybe people don’t want to pay for all the technology inside the Cybertruck, so they have to find ways to cut costs and thus lower the final selling price.
Cybertruck will appear in 2023, although we do not know the price.
After announcing the release of the Cybertruck in mid-2023, we have a slightly more specific date, yes. But we still don’t know the price. The initial price of the cheapest version will be $39,900. But they will most likely start with the most expensive options on the vehicle.
As with the Model 3, the cheaper Cybertruck will go on sale as soon as Tesla stabilizes the truck’s performance. And once they get it, it’s doubtful they can offer it for less than $40,000.

The Cybertruck is equipped with a cold-rolled stainless steel “exoskeleton” that requires a monstrous 8,000-ton machine. It does not require painting and is resistant to impact even with heavy hammers, as shown in the presentation. Elon Musk explained that the design of the truck is inspired by the design of cars blade runnerbut being such a different vehicle means facing serious production problems.
The prototypes have undergone minor but significant changes in recent months, including wheels, corners, rear-view mirrors and even windshield wipers.
