The average salary of IT specialists in Russia fell by 15-25%
Specialists of the Ventra holding company explained to RIA Novosti the decline in the number of jobs. Firstly, many IT specialists lost their jobs due to the withdrawal of large foreign companies from the Russian market. They had to look for new positions and revise their requirements for employers.
Secondly, the reduction in salary levels in some companies affects new employees who have just joined the sector.
“The sharp rise in salaries for IT specialists in recent years has forced many companies to reconsider their approach to recruitment; they are increasingly looking for novice specialists as an alternative, whose lack of experience dictates relatively low salary expectations – up to 100 thousand rubles,” Ventra noted.
The agency’s report notes that employees working in banking, retail and IT traditionally have the highest salaries: on average 265 thousand rubles, 240 thousand rubles and 200 thousand rubles, respectively.
Specialists working in the gaming department receive the least: 149 thousand rubles, in medicine – 137 thousand rubles, and in production – 105 thousand rubles.
