OpenAI has introduced SearchGPT, a search engine that provides understandable and relevant information.
The main page only has a field for a query. After entering it, a page with search results opens, which does not work the same way as we do.
SearchGPT tries to aggregate information itself when possible, so that the user does not have to go to other sites unnecessarily. For example, if you type “music festivals in Boone, Northern California, August”, the search engine itself will compile a list with brief information about each, using data from the site.
If necessary, the user can view the results in the form of classic links with titles and descriptions by clicking on the button on the left.
SearchGPT is currently a prototype. Test access is designed for 10 thousand users, it will open later. In the future, SearchGPT will be available as a separate product and as part of ChatGPT.
SearchGPT will always be a parameter for the first time. It may even have ads in the future so that OpenAI can recoup its growing costs. [The Verge]
