In New York, 28-year-old Carlos Brito was arrested in connection with the theft of more than 280 iPhones from a local electronics store, Digital World Shop.

According to police, on the night of April 18, he and his accomplice (who has not yet been found) broke the glass door of the store and stole iPhones worth $117,000.

The suspect was found on surveillance cameras. The minivan they came to rob the store in was hit by neighboring cameras, after which the police checked the car’s license plate and found its owner.

Brito was charged Friday with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and two counts of conspiracy. He remains in custody. [nj1015]
