It promises higher picture quality, better detail, richer lighting and fewer artifacts than its predecessors.
Google announced Image 3 earlier this year and it is now publicly available in the US, hosted on the Vertex AI platform. Users can generate detailed images from text queries and make detailed edits by highlighting and describing changes.
There are also caveats: it is impossible to create images featuring public figures, weapons or copyrighted characters, but some users have managed to get around these restrictions. For example, journalists from The Verge were able to bypass the tool and create characters that look like Sonic, Mario and Mickey Mouse. It was possible to generate logos for Apple, Macy’s, Hershey’s and even Google itself.
We previously wrote that Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphones will receive artificial intelligence from Google, it is called Gemini.
