Yandex Market introduces a new service fee for users in the amount of 20 rubles per order. The company’s press service reported that these funds will be used to support and develop the platform infrastructure. Service representatives noted that the main goal is to maintain high quality of service and continue to introduce new solutions to the market.
At the first stage, the changes will affect users in Moscow, the Moscow region, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod, but in the future the collection is planned to be introduced in other cities. The company announced that the fee will be charged only for successfully delivered products of appropriate quality. The funds received will be used to reinvest in technical infrastructure, including server rental and software updates.
Yandex Market is one of the largest marketplaces in Russia, with over 108 million products and 80.6 thousand active sellers by the end of the second quarter of 2024. The company allocates about 10 billion rubles annually to maintain its technology base, and the new tax will help sustain this investment.
