The new episode is set in Sicily in the early 1900s and, according to media, returns the series to its roots by focusing on “deep linear storytelling.” The announcement trailer featured a variety of period-appropriate weapons, including a knife, a pistol, and a double-barreled shotgun.

According to Hangar 13 President Nick Baynes, the game aims to recreate what made the Mafia series iconic and return to its core elements. Fans won’t have to wait long for details, as more information will be revealed in December, most likely during The Game Awards.

Mafia: The Old Country is scheduled for release in 2025.
