The Association of Bloggers and Agencies (ABA) has asked for more time to prepare for the implementation of the law on registration of resources and channels with an audience of 10 thousand people in the RKN. The ABA asks that content authors be given at least one year to adapt to the changes.

In early August, Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which bloggers and owners of channels with an audience of 10 thousand subscribers must report to Roskomnadzor. The document will come into force on November 1, 2024.
The ABA said it receives requests for clarification of the new rules every day. Association members insist that industry players need more time to prepare to comply with the new rules.
“That is why we at the ABA advocate that bloggers should be given at least a year to adapt to innovations,” the statement was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
In particular, it is not yet clear how it will be verified that the channel is actually registered with the RKN.
At the same time, the legal document states that channels not registered with the RKN will not be able to publish advertisements or other commercial announcements.
And users will no longer be able to publish posts from such channels. Thus, from January 1, 2025, social networks are obliged to close access to channels that have not been reported to the department.
