The European journalists, the publication writes, provide a link to a French administrative document received from a source involved in the case and claim that the Paris authorities issued arrest warrants for the Durov brothers on March 25.
Pavel was detained at Paris airport on August 24. Reports later emerged that he had Russian and French citizenship. He also holds passports from the United Arab Emirates and St. Kitts and Nevis.
“Nicholas also has citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis,” the source said.
Currently, nothing is known about Nikolai’s whereabouts.
Durov is suspected of ten crimes and felonies in France and could face up to ten years in prison. The billionaire has not yet been formally charged. He was released on bail of 5 million euros, which he will have to pay soon.
The investigation into Durov’s case, which is accused of “complicity in the administration of an online platform for the purpose of conducting illegal transactions by an organized group,” is expected to last several months.
