Despite the fact that over the past nine years the percentage of Russians who believe that there is no need to pay off debts for good reasons has almost halved, residents of the country still believe that an economic crisis, a divorce or an illness can justify such behavior.
The survey revealed that 71% of citizens consider non-payment of loans to be a crime and 20% say that it is not necessary to repay the money borrowed in a loan.
The portrait of a Russian who believes that it is still necessary to pay off debts is that of a person over 35 years old with a higher education; and among those who allow non-repayment, most often young people under 35 years old from cities with a population of less than 100 thousand people and from a large family (four or more people).
RB.RU reported in early August that the Central Bank had clarified the procedure for granting credit holidays to residents of regions bordering Ukraine.
