MTS launched the course “DevOps: Methodology and Practice” at the base of the Faculty of Computer Science (PCS) of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University. It is designed for fourth-year students of the “Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” undergraduate program.

MTS launches DevOps methodology course for HSE students

The course was developed by the MTS.Teta Educational Center with the support of the cloud provider #CloudMTS. During the training, students will learn development approaches, master basic tools, and also receive recommendations on what skills need to be further developed depending on the career path.

One of the conferences will be dedicated to working with cloud platforms and container architecture. On the vendor’s resources, the professor will deploy a virtual machine and demonstrate key process automation tools.

At the end of the course, students will consolidate their knowledge by participating in two practice interviews. Additionally, seniors will receive a #CloudMTS grant, which can be spent on a cloud provider’s resources for independent study of DevOps practices.

“The DevOps engineer is a highly demanded and well-paid profession. We are now seeing a shortage in the Russian IT personnel market. Expanding the list of training programs for training specialists is one of the solutions to this problem, and the partnership with a university like the Higher School of Economics is very important and valuable for the MTS ecosystem. We love sharing experiences and knowledge, we will be delighted to see students in our courses»— commented Pavel Voronin, First Vice President of Technology of MTS.

“The work of applied problems is the most important stage in the training of all the students of the Faculty of Informatics. The most important thing for us are the projects that are carried out under the direction of the main IT companies. Thus, thanks to the participation of students in a new MTS project, students will be able to acquire new knowledge and skills under the guidance of highly qualified mentors. It is important that the proposed course is specifically aimed at training DevOps specialists, who are currently in high demand among employers.– said Ilya Samonenko, Deputy Dean of the FCS for educational and methodological work.
