Ozon has launched the collection of oversized goods at sorting centres. Customers will be able to pick up furniture, household appliances, building materials, etc. free of charge and at a convenient time if they are delivered through the marketplace, the company’s press service told RB.RU about this.

Ozon considers a product large if one of its sides measures more than 2 m, its weight exceeds 35 kg and its volume exceeds 500 ml.

To collect items themselves, customers must select the “pickup” option at checkout and specify an available sorting center as a pickup location.

Automated pickup of large items will help shoppers save time and money on delivery, and sellers will be able to increase sales volumes, especially in remote regions, Ozon hopes.

So far, this option is available at 37 sorting centres in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in the Far East, Volga and South and Central regions. The company promises to increase the number of collection points for oversized goods.
