The seller listed the item for $0.99, but actually lost $0.03 due to eBay’s $1.02 fee.

The buyer paid a total of $5.40, including the item price, shipping, and taxes. eBay used to include commissions in shipping costs, but they recently stopped doing so, leading to similar incidents with lower-priced items.

This highlights the fact that sellers on eBay, especially those selling low-priced items, could face losses due to changes in commission structures, and so far it doesn’t look like anyone is planning to change anything.
