Russia intends to increase trade turnover with Afghanistan to $3 billion by 2025 and to $10 billion by 2030. This volume is expected to be achieved by expanding agro-industrial cooperation.

According to RIA Novosti, director of the Russian Business Center in Afghanistan Rustam Khabibullin, at a meeting of representatives of the business council and IO, the country’s Minister of Agriculture was tasked with reaching $3 billion by 2025 and $10 billion by 2030.
The aim is to increase cooperation in the areas of export and import, expand the range of products and strengthen the presence of Russian agricultural companies in the country.
In addition, the meeting discussed the creation of new logistics routes to reduce transport costs.
In early spring, Russian authorities expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Afghanistan. According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, the Russian Federation is ready to import Afghan agricultural products.
