Initially, various industry experts, including display analyst Ross Yang and Haitong analyst Jeff Pu, reported that Apple was developing a “foldable” MacBook with either a 20.2-inch or 18.8-inch solid display. It was assumed that the device would function as a tablet or monitor when opened, and as a full-fledged laptop when folded in half.
Kuo’s latest update to the X (formerly Twitter) suggests that Apple is ditching the 20.2-inch design in favor of an 18.8-inch display. He also noted that the device’s release date has been made uncertain, likely due to confusion over whether the device will be called a foldable iPad or a MacBook.
