The mobile operator Tele2 conducted a study to find out how actively residents of small settlements in the Arkhangelsk region use the Internet and voice communication. The analysis covered 65 villages where the operator has provided high-quality communication over the past few years. The study found that since the beginning of 2024, the total traffic from 65 base stations has reached an impressive figure of 2,782 TB, which corresponds to about 925 thousand downloads of HD movies.
The leader in Internet activity was the village of Vozhgora in the Leshukonsky district, where local residents used 102 TB of traffic. The second place was taken by the village of Koinas, where about 101 TB were downloaded, and the third place was taken by the village of Mamonikha – 97 TB. The operator also evaluated voice activity: Vozhgora was the most talkative with 2475 minutes of calls, followed by Mamonikha – 2320 minutes and Ulitino – 1894 minutes. In total, residents of small settlements in the Arkhangelsk region communicated for almost 56,500 minutes.
All these changes became possible thanks to the implementation of the second stage of the federal program to bridge the digital divide, in which Tele2 acts as a technology partner. The company develops design solutions and supplies equipment for the construction of base stations operating in 2G and 4G standards. Modern technologies help residents of even the most remote corners to always stay in touch, work and study remotely, noted Alexander Kulba, director of the Arkhangelsk branch of Tele2.
