An analysis by WIRED identified the top 16 deepfake sites using Google, Apple, Discord, Twitter, Patreon, and Line login options. It allows users to quickly create accounts to create erotic images. The publication noted that despite tech companies’ policies prohibiting the promotion of malicious content, login APIs are being misused.

Following the report’s publication, Discord and Apple removed access to APIs for the offending sites, and Google and other companies also pledged to enforce their terms more strictly. Visa and Mastercard were also called on to monitor transactions associated with these sites.
