Sales of new imported Toyota Avalon sedans have started in Russia. They were imported into the country under a parallel import scheme, Auto News of the Day writes about this.

The car is considered the most durable sedan in the world and was also intended to completely replace the Camry that had left the market. Its price has dropped by 250 thousand rubles compared to May prices and can now be purchased for 3,499,000 rubles. One of the official Toyota dealers in Saratov set a price range of 3.5 to 3.75 million rubles, depending on the configuration.
The most affordable of these is called the Progressive Edition – it has plenty of options, including light sensors, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, and there’s also a multimedia system with a large touchscreen.
All new Avalons have a standard 178-horsepower two-liter engine paired with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. The Avalon is longer than the Camry and has a longer wheelbase.
In June, Toyota announced a recall of 4,000 cars in Russia. We are talking about the LC 300, LX 500D, LX 600 models sold from September 30, 2021. The manufacturer has identified a problem in the neutral transmission, which increases the risk of an accident.
