View rates for long-form videos and vertical (short) videos have dropped sharply. Analysts compared data on new content posted by bloggers in the period from July 22 to August 25 (when YouTube began to slow down) and in a similar period earlier, from June 17 to July 21.

For example, children’s blogger Vladislav Bumaga (channel “A4”, 66.2 million subscribers) experienced a 78% decrease in video views on YouTube during this period, down to 100.4 million. Former member of the “A4” team Vladislav Chasheiko (channel “Glent”, 21.9 million people) decreased by 54.4% (58.6 million views). The channel of blogger and music artist Khabib Sharipov (“Khabib”, 9.1 million subscribers) lost popularity – by 24.6% (23.2 million views).

On the channel of tech blogger Valentin Petukhov (Wylsacom, 11.4 million subscribers), the decrease in views was 12% (21.2 million views), interest in the content of blogger Dmitry Maslennikov (Dima Maslennikov, 18.3 million subscribers) decreased by 33% (18.3 million views).

Internet providers that use technologies to bypass website access restrictions and do not heed the regulator’s requirements may lose their licenses, Roskomnadzor has warned.
