folding phones Their popularity has increased in recent years, but some apps have lagged in updating their interfaces. gboard Here’s one of the culprits; While it’s available on almost all Google-powered devices, the on-screen keyboard may look and work better on foldable devices.

However, Mishaal Rahman of Android Authority recently noticed a new UI in Gboard while using his Samsung Galaxy Z Foldable 6He checked another of his devices and found that the new user interface was missing until he updated to version 14.6.02-beta.

The update changes the layout of toolbars like the search bar and category option to make them easier to use on larger-screen devices, especially book-style flip phones. You can use your left hand to navigate categories, use the search feature, and more, leaving your right hand free to select specific icons.

The main change is the removal of unnecessary and distracting toolbars that used to be at the top of the screen. These have now been moved to a column on the left that contains a search bar, emojis, recent searches, and more. It now scrolls vertically through the different categories instead of horizontally.
