They said that VB Development owed more than 30 billion rubles to the parent company and that the subsidiary was not fulfilling its obligations under previously concluded contracts. These actions, according to the company, undermine the development of the distribution network for small and medium-sized businesses and increase costs for manufacturers and buyers.

“The combined company Wildberries & Russ is considering transferring all contractual obligations of VB Development to another contractor in order to be able to complete the construction on time and meet its obligations to the regions,” the company said.

The husband of Wildberries founder Tatyana Bakalchuk, Vladislav, also spoke about the delay in construction. He said that the WB had stopped transferring money to contractors in the amount of 1 billion rubles. The reasons were not given; according to him, no documents were provided. Bakalchuk also claims that subcontractors ran out of money and construction work was completely frozen.

“At the beginning of the year, our warehouses could store up to 595 million goods; now this figure has decreased by almost 10%, to 535 million goods. Stopping construction will only make the situation worse. This will force sellers to pay more for acceptance, lead times will increase, and the company’s revenue and customer convenience will suffer,” Bakalchuk said.

He also explained that, as co-founder of Wildberries, he is doing everything possible to restore the platform’s normal operation. At the same time, according to official information from the company’s press service, work on the construction sites continues, construction works are underway and will be completed on time.

Wildberries plans to reduce tariffs for Russian producers, such a decision has already been made within the group, said Robert Mirzoyan, CEO of RVB LLC (the joint company of Wildberries and Russ Group), speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum.
