We all remember how the OnePlus brand started. In the early days of the brand, they produced high-performance smartphones with the best features at a mid-range price. Much later, when they had already achieved some success in the category of productive smartphones, it was decided to expand the line by adding inexpensive NORD smartphones. The first NORD turned out to be in demand and popular with users, and then the company released several more models, such as Nord CE 2, Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord 2T.
Well, now there are rumors that as part of the development of the company, the management decided to separate Nord into a separate sub-brand. Globally, it will remain owned by OnePlus, but it will go its own way. Separate management, separate team and developers, separate product line. Your logo, your merchandising and, of course, your fans. It’s like Xiaomi’s Redmi or Oppo’s Realme. NORD smartphones are expected to be marked “from OnePlus” or something like that, because the brand is not that well known yet and needs the help of its “big” brother. In addition to smartphones, Nord will sell smart watches, fitness bracelets, tws earphones, and power banks in the future. In general, the market will be replenished with another full-fledged player who will impose a fight on the giants of the industry.
Most likely, the brand will remain unchanged, and the blue color will become corporate. In addition to online sales, the company will pay great attention to opening branded showrooms and outlets, which should expand the audience and raise awareness.
Of course, all this remains at the level of rumors, since the company did not give official comments, but they did not come out of nowhere and we may soon hear an official statement.
