“In accordance with the new rules, we are obliged to limit access to Wix services for residents of Russia starting from September 12, 2024 and block their accounts. From this date, you will no longer be able to access your Wix account or any of the services we provide,” Wix said in a statement.

Starting from September 12, all sites belonging to the owner, who is a resident of the Russian Federation, will be removed from the public domain. Wix recommended moving your domains to other platforms as soon as possible.

Wix clarified that the restrictions apply only to residents of the Russian Federation. Users can confirm another residence by providing documents, for example, a registration certificate or a certificate of residence.

On September 12, 2024, US sanctions against Russia will come into force, which include a ban on the provision of certain consulting, analytical and IT services to Russian users. In this regard, many companies have introduced restrictions, for example Miro.
