PS5 lead architect Mark Cerny talked about the console’s technical improvements in a special presentation.
According to him, the new console will provide higher frame rates and improved performance, especially in games that support ray tracing.
One of the key upgrades is a more powerful graphics processor (GPU) that’s 67% faster than the regular PS5.
Memory has also become 28% faster, which improves game processing by 45%.
Additional support for PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) machine learning technology enables sharper, more detailed images thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms.
Sony showcased a variety of games that showcased the improvements on the new console, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7 and Hogwarts Legacy. The PlayStation 5 Pro will cost $699.99.
