9to5Mac reports that Apple is allowing users to skip the iOS 18 update immediately after the operating system’s release.
Since there may be some bugs and app compatibility issues during the release, people may stay on iOS 17. Presumably, the final version of iOS 17.7 will be released on the same day as iOS 18.
Users will then be able to download security patches without having to upgrade to a new OS.
The company will presumably stop updating iOS 17 and issuing security patches for it for several months, giving you time to improve iOS 18. [9to5]
