According to information received from the 4PDA portal, the malfunction turned out to be technical, and at the time of publication of the news, identity verification via Russian numbers was working without interruption on both mobile devices and computers.
Google has yet to comment on what caused the outage, and it is unclear whether it was a temporary technical limitation or a deliberate attempt to limit Russian users’ access to the service.
Experts have previously considered several reasons for the failure, including technical issues and US sanctions that could limit the work of American IT companies in Russia.
