On average, Russians need 250,000 rubles a month to be happy, according to a survey by the job search service SuperJob, the results of which were reviewed by RBC.

In six months, this figure has increased by 16%: in March, Russian citizens needed 215 thousand rubles to be happy.

Moscow became the leader in terms of requests: here you need 276 thousand rubles a month to be happy. Vladivostok took second place – 270 thousand rubles. Also in the top are Rostov-on-Don – 257 thousand rubles, Tyumen – 253 thousand rubles and Krasnoyarsk – 250 thousand rubles.

St. Petersburg and Kazan ranked 11th with requests for 240 thousand rubles each. The lowest expectations were recorded in Kirov – 190 thousand rubles, Ryazan and Kemerovo – 210 thousand rubles each.

Men demand 15% more than women on average: 270,000 and 230,000 rubles, respectively. Young people under 24 estimate their happiness at 185,000 rubles, and Russians over 45 estimate it at 260,000 rubles.

Analysts conducted the survey from August 12 to September 13. It was attended by 20.5 thousand respondents aged 18 and over from more than 500 localities. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, 1.5 thousand people each answered the questions, in other megacities – 500 each.

  • As of January 1, 2024, the minimum wage (minimum wage) in Russia is 19.2 thousand rubles. At the end of August, the LDPR proposed increasing it by 56% starting in 2025, to 30 thousand rubles. Deputy Chairman of the party faction Yaroslav Nilov believes that “it is not only a question of wealth, but also of the quality of life” of millions of Russians.
