Every sitcom or series worth its salt must have a house or apartment whose characters are almost as important as those who live in the flesh, a place that takes on a life of its own and gives that television program its special stamp.

From The Simpsonseven in the movie theater My poor angel, Godfather, Seinfeld or FriendsThere are many houses and apartments here that have marked us in history.

But what happens when the main characters who once lived in these houses can no longer continue to pay the rent?

In a story cited by the New York Times, researchers at real estate consulting firm Clever analyzed data on current salaries, home prices, rents, property taxes, and insurance rates to determine whether famous characters from 20 TV shows and movies could realistically afford their homes if they lived in them today. The studio used real-life home listings to determine on-screen property values, and real-life salaries to determine characters’ incomes.

Let’s look at what this specific study found:

Those who could continue at home

The list price of $232,700 and a household income of $112,060 would allow the family to own the home today. There, the Forman family was able to pay the estimated list price of $274,900 on a family income of $225,750.
