British audio manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins is presenting a new premium headphone in the form of the Px7 S2. The headset has active noise canceling and has a hefty price tag.

The manufacturer says the Px7 S2 is based on a “new acoustic platform.” In the middle are 40mm drivers that are very responsive and can therefore “reproduce truly faithfully every nuance in a piece of music” with low distortion. This should provide a more accurate high resolution image.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 features Qualcomm (aptX Adaptive) wireless technology that automatically optimizes wireless music transmission from compatible phones, tablets and computers.

Naturally, this model also has a powerful digital signal processing unit that makes it possible to play high-resolution 24-bit music using suitable streaming services. The headphones also support USB-C and 3.5mm cable connections. Both cable types can be found in the supplied carrying case.

Bowers & Wilkins Active Noise Cancellation

The Px7 S2 also features Bowers & Wilkins noise canceling technology to keep out unwanted noise without sacrificing sound quality. Six high-quality microphones work together for this: two microphones measure the output of each driver, two respond to outside noise, and two let you be heard clearly during a call.

The new Bowers & Wilkins headphones are controlled by the company’s Music app. With the app you can connect the Px7 S2 to a mobile device or adjust the sound using an adjustable equalizer. In addition, with it you can turn on or off the transparent mode of noise reduction. This allows you to allow more or less external sound.

Finally, you can also check the battery level of the headset with the app. In a future update, the manufacturer will allow you to stream your favorite music directly from their mobile device to the Px7 S2.

The ear cups have buttons so you can operate the headset without an app. Additionally, you can use the Px7 S2 to activate a voice assistant at the touch of a button. The headset lasts up to thirty hours on a single charge. A quick charge session of fifteen minutes is all it takes for an extra seven hours of listening pleasure.

price and availability

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 is available in three colours: Grey, Blue and Black. Equipped with thinner, lighter and more luxurious ear cushions with improved memory foam. The earphones are now on sale for 429 euros.
