As RIA reports with reference to the case materials, the investigation is carried out by the investigation department of cybercrimes and crimes in the field of high technologies of the Main Investigation Department.

According to the documents, the attackers, by guessing numbers, gained access to numbers and PIN codes of 4,459 electronic gift cards and certificates from the chain of children’s goods stores.

Thus, hackers stole other people’s prepaid cards. It is not specified whether the thieves were able to use the hacked certificates and whether the victims will receive compensation.

The minimum value of a Detsky Mir gift certificate is 300 rubles. Therefore, the total minimum amount of gift cards exceeds 1.3 million rubles.
