Uber signed a border agreement with Avride, which was previously announced as Yandex Self-Driving Group and was developing self-driving cars.

After the division of Yandex, Avride was spun off into a separate company and is now subordinate to Nebius, which was formerly called Yandex NV. Nebius is led by Arkady Volozh.

Starting this week, Uber Eats customers in Austin will have food delivered using rovers similar to those in Moscow. Later this year, rovers appeared in Dallas and Jersey City. In 2025, an unmanned taxi based on Avride cars will be launched in Dallas, and delivery robots will appear in South Korea.

Avride CEO Dmitry Polishchuk said that in 2025 the company plans to increase the fleet of rovers for Uber Eats to several hundred. [The Verge]
