Russian credit organizations have put forward a proposal to use the digital ruble in loans. The idea seems quite real, as Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the Committee on Financial Markets of the State Duma, told RIA Novosti.

The parliamentarian emphasized that this is just a discussion about possible formats, but according to him, perhaps such loans will be available.
Aksakov claims that the lending function is currently not planned in connection with the digital ruble retail model. Several Russian banks are already worried that this currency will “take away their bread.”
He added that the popularity of this payment method will directly depend on how the explanatory work is carried out with the population and businesses, what parameters and advantages are included in the functionality of the digital ruble.
The Bank of Russia has significantly expanded the digital ruble pilot project. As of September 1, individuals and several credit institutions joined.
