It is necessary to undergo a technical inspection when registering used cars purchased on the secondary market. Starting January 1, the price increase will affect residents of the Amur, Rostov regions, the Jewish Autonomous Region, Tyumen and the Stavropol Territory. There, rates will increase by 75-117 rubles. The most expensive technical inspection will be carried out in the Amur region (1,694 rubles), and the cheapest – in the Tyumen region, where the price will be 1,096 rubles.

In the Samara region and Mordovia, prices are expected to rise to 1,097 and 1,098 rubles respectively, although the rates have not yet been approved, the newspaper writes.

The increase in the cost of technical inspection is provided for by order of the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The regions collect data from maintenance operators on costs, including labor and equipment repairs, on the basis of which an “economically justified” rate is calculated. If less than half of the region’s operators provide data, officials set the indexing.

Last year, operators in most regions did not provide data, after which rates increased by an average of 12%. In 2024 the situation repeats itself. In the Altai Territory, in the Tambov and Saratov regions, operators did not submit information, so tariffs will be changed in accordance with the level of inflation, local authorities said.
