Demand for the iPad Pro with an M4 chip and OLED screen was below expectations, analyst Ross Young said based on display supply data.

According to him, it was initially assumed that about 10 million screens would be delivered in 2024. However, now their number has decreased to 6.7 million pieces. Young estimates that shipments of the 11-inch model will decline by 40% in the third quarter and 30% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The 13-inch version faces an even steeper decline, down 50% in the third quarter and 90% in the fourth.

Demand for the device is falling due to high prices. The base version of the iPad Pro 13 costs $1,299. For most users, this is not a short-lived product like the iPhone and Mac, so they are not willing to pay that much for a tablet.
