On the morning of October 8, Russian users reported a large-scale failure in the operation of the Discord messenger, according to data from the Downdetector.su portal. More than 3,000 Russians reported problems.

Complaints about the operation of the service began to arrive at approximately 10:15 Moscow time. Users report problems loading the site, updating the service, opening the app, and connecting to the Internet.

The peak of complaints occurred at 11:26 Moscow time. At that time, 3,281 users reported problems, and the proportion of network failures reached 26.7%. In addition, more than 100 users of the Downradar portal reported difficulties accessing the messenger.

Most of the complaints came from the Kamchatka Territory, the Sakhalin Region, the Khabarovsk Territory, the Primorye Territory and Yakutia.

This is not the first large-scale Discord outage in Russia. Users complained of problems accessing the service on September 19 and 26.

At the end of last month, Moscow’s Tagansky District Court fined Discord 3.5 million rubles for failing to remove prohibited information. Shortly before, Kommersant reported that the platform could be blocked in Russia at the request of Roskomnadzor, which sent five orders to the platform.

On October 1, Roskomnadzor said it demanded that Discord remove 947 materials containing calls for extremism, suicide, pro-drugs and other prohibited content. The same day, the FSB announced the arrest of nine teenagers who were preparing attacks through Discord.
